FROM PASTURE TO PRINCE (2 Samuel 7)

The nation of Israel was once ruled by judges, but the people demanded that they be given a “king to judge us like all the nations.” Their initial choice of a king was foolish and based on outward appearances, but God would raise up another king “after his own heart.” Beginning as a lowly shepherd boy, David would eventually become King of Israel and receive the Lord’s promise of a throne and kingdom that would lastforever.
